Soccer Saturday

Thank goodness for warmer weather. It was a very pleasant day for soccer today. Sam's team won 6-2. She played out during the first half and goalie during the second half. She was close to scoring a goal. It can be so frustrating to watch sometimes. But I really enjoy cheering her on.

Until next time,
Jaime

Daisy Scouts/Soccer Saturday

Tonight was Megan's second Daisy Girl Scout meeting. It was the first time she wore her Daisy vest. She was super excited to wear her vest and go to another meeting. We (and by "we" I mean "me") made name necklaces. And she was able to recite the Girl Scout Promise so she has earned her first official badge. It will be the center to the Daisy petals. I am so proud of her.

Sam had a good game this past Saturday. She played goalie for the entire game. Although her team didn't win she was able to make some really great saves. And she is getting really good at her drop kick.

I have really bad at taking pictures lately. This was the first game I took pictures. She scored a goal two weeks ago. I missed the game because I was at a band competition with Rick. My Mom said that Sam was so happy. Apparently she had a HUGE smile on her face. I am really proud of how she is blossoming as a soccer player this season.

I will take some more pictures at her next game and hopefully Soccer Saturday will actually post on Saturday.

Until next time,
Jaime

Soccer Saturday

It's Saturday again!! Although this is the last Soccer Saturday until September. Soccer season for Sam is officially over. And really, not a moment too soon.

Today started with a different soccer game. We went to see my nephew Noah play in his soccer game this morning. He scored a goal!!!! He has really grown in his soccer skills this year. Last year he played on a team with Megan. Neither one of them got much out of it last year.

It was really fun to watch Noah play today! Here are a couple pictures of Noah:

And now it is time for pictures of Sam's last soccer game of the season. She tried hard despite how HOT it was today. She almost scored a goal. Are you wondering if they finally won a game?? Seriously people, of course not. They did get another goal though, for a whopping total of 2 goals all spring season. Those poor girls!! They seemed to have fun though.

So now for your last Soccer Saturday enjoyment here is Samantha in her final game of the season:

And because my little niece Mady is so adorable, here are a couple pics of her sweet face:

I told you she was adorable!!!!

Soccer Saturday

Time again for another Soccer Saturday post. They played SO HARD today. Unfortunately it didn't produce a win for them, but it was a much better game! Sam played goalie the entire second half. She only let in 1 goal. I think she did fantastic!!

There is only one game left in the season. They have next weekend off for the holiday, so the following Saturday is their last game. I can only hope that they are able to get a win. It would be so great to see them finally win a game.
Until next time,
Jaime

Birthday Party/Soccer Saturday

I can't believe that my baby is turning 9 years old. I can't believe how fast time flies. I was in labor at this exact moment 9 years ago. This child put me through 32 hours of labor, most of it without any meds. And then to thank me for giving her life she peed on me after she was born.

Here are some pictures from the party we had for Samantha today. The theme was High School Musical if you can't tell, or are lucky enough to not be familiar with HSM.

After the party we took Sam to her soccer game. Yet again the team didn't score a goal. Sam played pretty well and did a good job as goalie. I think that she really enjoys playing goalie.
So here is your Soccer Saturday:

It was a beautiful Saturday! And tomorrow is supposed to be even better. Tomorrow is Samantha's Birthday and Mother's Day. This is the first time that they have fallen on the same day so we are going to try and make it an extra special day. We have reservations for brunch at The Coeur d Alene Resort and then we will walk the boardwalk. It is going to be so much fun. And yummy too!!
Until next time,

Soccer Saturday

Sam had a soccer game this afternoon. Her team finally SCORED A GOAL!!!! And immediately after the goal Sam ALMOST scored a goal. She was soooooo close. It went wide by only about an inch. So close!!!!! They still lost of course, but still they at least finally scored!

The most frustrating thing about being a Soccer Mom is sitting on the sideline and watching them try their hardest but still not succeed. Samantha really loves soccer and that helps the situation. But it is still frustrating to watch!!
Until next time,
Jaime

Soccer Saturday

It was a beautiful sunny day here in the Inland Northwest. A great day for soccer, if you were the other team. For our girls it wasn't such a great day. Still no goals. Another losing battle. And poor Samantha tried so hard despite the fact that she is sick and feeling awful. She only ended up playing two shifts. She didn't want to let down her team so she decided she wanted to try and play. I am thinking she should have just stayed home but she had to make the decision for herself.

I did take a couple pictures. So for your Soccer Saturday enjoyment here you go:

There is no game next weekend so Soccer Saturday will return in two weeks. Let's just hope the next game goes a little better, for all the girls' sakes.
Until next time,
Jaime

Soccer Saturday

It's that time of year again. Time to load up the mini van with lawn chairs and blankets. Fill up the water bottles. Tie up the cleats and grab the soccer ball. Pile in the van and head to the soccer field. It's time to sit in the cold. Scream, yell, and cheer for the white team. Cringe when they get scored on (numerous times). And try to tell them how good they did even when they got clobbered. It's time to be a Soccer Mom.

She may have lost but she is awfully cute!!

Until next time,

Jaime

Soccer Saturday and a little frustration

I don't have any pictures to post today of Sam's last soccer game of the fall because it was raining and I didn't want to risk harming my camera. Rick was the coach of today's game because their coach is enjoying a vacation in Mexico. He was tired of yelling by the end of the game. The girls would rather talk to each other than play position today, but I guess that is the attention span of an 8 year old. I did see a change in Sam's abilities over the past two months. I am proud of how she has grown as a goalie. It really is genetic.

I am also quite frustrated today. Both girls have been fairly disrespectful lately. Megan has decided to write on furniture and the walls and Sam has gotten really sassy. And then to top it off their rooms have gotten out of control. I don't know how to handle things lately. So today I started to clean out their rooms myself. I took two big bags of garbage and three bags of toys out of Megan's room. I started in Sam's room but I couldn't take it anymore so Rick took me out to dinner. I will finish Sam's room in the morning. That is not exactly how I wanted to spend my sunday but it looks like I don't have a choice. Especially when Sam says she is too tired to help me and would rather have me take away her toys than help me pick them up. Help!! I don't know what to do.

I know that I have given them too much over the years and now it has turned around to bite me in the ass. It made me happy to give them stuff but now I am suffering the consequences. I don't know what I should get rid of and what I should keep. And because of this mess they have also lost the privilege of having a nice big playroom in the basement. Rick has decided to move things around downstairs and they will now have the smallest room in the basement as their playroom. I am okay with that because they can't even clean up their bedrooms, let alone the playroom. They will be losing a lot of things as a consequence of their disrespect for us and the house.

Any advice on this subject would be fantastic. I am struggling a bit with this decision, even though I am sure it is the right thing to do. Whoever said being a parent was easy? Anyone?

Until next time,
Jaime

Soccer Saturday and My 100th Post

Finally another Soccer Saturday post. Samantha had a couple good games the last two weekends that Rick and I missed because of marching band. Today was a good day too. Sam has really become a good little goalie. And that last picture is of Rick being the goalie coach and Megan helping out. Next weekend is the final game of the fall season. Rick will be the coach of the team because Coach Ron will be enjoying the sun in Mexico, lucky bastard. He said that he will have a drink for Rick. (And if you have been following along you know that Rick can't drink) Oh I would love to go somewhere warm. Okay I have gotten off track here.

Anyway, this is also my 100th post. If you have been following from the first post or just happened upon the blog I would really like to know who is reading. If you don't want to sign in I will understand but I would really love to see how many people read my little blog.

Thank you to everyone that has been reading and supporting us. Sometimes it may seem as if everything is going good since I don't always post about Rick's health. It just gets a little cumbersome always posting about the little stuff that still lingers everyday. And it means a lot to know that there are people out there thinking about us and praying for us. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.

Until next time,
Jaime

Soccer Saturday

Can you say BRRRRRRR?!?!?!?!?!?!? It was freezing outside this morning, and the wind was terrible. And Sam had lead in her butt today. Let's just say that today's game was not good. Not good at all! There's always next week, except Rick and I won't be there to cheer her on.
Until next time,
Jaime
